Community Housing Partnership acquired the San Cristina in 1991 and began rehabilitating the beginning in 1992. Community Housing Partnership worked with Asian Neighborhood Design to redevelop this historic building. When the San Cristina opened to tenants in 1994 it became Community Housing Partnership’s second building in its permanent, supportive housing portfolio.

THE BUILDING

The San Cristina is a four-story building originally built in 1913 and is now home to 58 single adults. The building features a brightly painted community room, offices for support services, and a fountain and mural on the first floor. The building also has 3 commercial spaces along Market Street. The building is recognized for its unique architectural style and historic value to the City. Prior to being renovated and opened to Community Housing Partnership tenants, the San Cristina was used to film portions of the movie “Interview with a Vampire.”
