San Francisco Senior Center (SFSC) was founded in 1947 and is the oldest nonprofit senior center in the nation. Our mission is to provide elder San Franciscans culturally and linguistically appropriate opportunities for lifelong learning, healthy living, and social and community activities that foster independence and self-reliance.

“Through education, advocacy and direct services for prevention and care, we are confronting HIV in communities most vulnerable to the disease. Established in 1982, our mission is the radical reduction of new infections in San Francisco because we refuse to accept HIV as inevitable.”
